With rebels in Iraq continuing to blow up everything they can, more and more soldiers and foreign correspondents are getting caught in the crossfire.
To learn more about the job these reporters do watch the film War Photographer which offers a look at the delicate balance required of journalists on the front lines.

“Sisters In Law” (trailer)
“Screened at more than 120 festivals worldwide, this totally fascinating and often hilarious doc follows tough-minded state prosecutor Vera Ngassa and court president Beatrice Ntuba as they help women in their village fight cases of abuse. With fierce compassion, they dispense wisdom and wisecracks in fair measure. A cross between Judge Judy and The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series, SISTERS IN LAW has audiences cheering when justice is served.”

The 1991 classic Delicatessen was re-released in the US 3 weeks ago. We’ve received some requests from readers looking for the trailer of this movie. Since it’s a re-release, major trailer sites like apple and imdb don’t carry it and links to a “mov” file at miramax.com appear on many movie sites but don’t work.
We managed to find it on the director’s official site in France but the full trailer is having some trouble streaming from there. It’s worth looking at for the teasers though - Link: Delicatessen (jpjeunetlesite.online.fr)
You Tube has a full version. Choose widescreen view for better display quality - Link: Delicatessen trailer (you tube)

1 commentHot Docs about mayors
With Cannes well under way we are now free to put it behind us and focus on what’s going on today. One film that’s making headlines and popping up on most east village sidewalks this week is Giuliani Time. Giuliani is an enticing subject matter for a film. A true product of how we perceive media and public relations over matter in all aspects of our political system. I hope to write more about it once I’ve seen the film.
It also continues a trend of documentaries about mayors, some of which are available here:
